The world's scenario indicates a definite rise of intolerance and violence, chaos and conflict in almost all spheres of life. The time has come when we should remember the concluding remarks of Swami Vivekananda's lecture delivered at the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago, United States of America in 1893 - Help and not fight, assimilation and not destruction, harmony and peace and not dissention. 

It is primarily for this purpose the Ramakrishna Vivekananda Mission has conceived the idea of establishing a University in the name of Swami Vivekananda to impart value based education - basic values that remain eternal in the changing society just to bring back the whole world in its spiritual orbit paving way for the entire Humanity to march ahead towards divinity.
