Swami Vivekananda had said that God could be best served through service to mankind.
He had wanted a man-making religion, man-making theories and all-round man-making education. Accordingly, the new Institute of Advanced Studies aims at education based on values, ethics and aesthetics and application of science, technology and humanities for improving the quality of life, especially of the weaker sections. The focus of education and research will be on employment generation, self-employment and entrepreneurship. This Institute will serve as the nucleus for the realization of the proposed Vivekananda National University.
